This is ment as a rough first overview, for players that never played TEQ before.

The Servers

TEQ has three servers. you are allowed to play all servers simulataniusly but you may not own more then one account or use more then one country on the same server at one time.

On teamserver and groupserver one round (reset) will least one month, with 1-2 days break in between. On fightserver its up to 2 months, but it can be shorter if someone fullfills the winning criterias for that server before the 60days are done. therefor fightserver doesnt restart at the beginning of each month as the two other servers do, but on changing dates.

The Goal

In TEQ you control a nation and try to make it as powerfull as possible. How this is meassured is a little diffrent from server to server but the main goal is Networth. Networth is mainly your land, technology and military.

When one round ends all players will gain ranking points and the game gets reset.

Accumulating ranking points will raise your player ranking and earn you medals.

How to play

On the one hand TEQ countrys can be treated as huge industries: They produce goods, military or technologies and trade them for the other goods they need.

On the ohter hand they fight each other for land and rescources. limited military activity is commonly accepted, but going to far will get you killed quickly, so act with caution!

When you have a country on one of the servers, you'll be given turns every x minutes, depending on the server youre playing. There is no way to get aditional turns, so it all comes down to the best usage of the time youre given.

A quick growth is key in TEQ. You need land and discoveries to raise your production and you need military to defend it.

Military is very expencive, so your buisness needs to earn you a fortune to pay the bills. While doing that you need to constantly grow.

A solid plan is what you need, right at the start.

Strategies

TEQ has mechanisms in play that will force you to specialize in one buisness aspect of your country. It would be going to far to explain everything now allready, but its accepted by most players that a mixed country that trys to be selfsufficient will allways fall behind, compared to a country that specializes and engages in trading.

Basicaly, the strategys are called by the goods they produce or the building they center on: Steeler, Barracker, Beacher, WarFacer (short for warfactory) or whatever. Plus theres the question if you want to use the peacefull 'landbuying' or agressive 'grabing' way to get your land for growth. So common plans could be 'landbuying steeler', 'grabbing beacher' etc.

Many players have written strategys that they are willing to share with new players. They are no secrets.

The average strategys in TEQ will be similar. The beginning of every round has some turns in 'neutral' mode: you cant attack or be attacked. During that time you build your economy. When you have used your neutral turns (they are limited) you make sell a lot of your goods and spent the cash on military to get your country ready for the rough time OON 'out of neutral'.

From now on you'll spent your turns on land growth, purchase of technology and military. You sell your goods and earn cash for the next day.

Knowledge of the market, wise choice of targets and clever management of rescouces are what it takes for you to compete!

Getting Started

My main suggestion for every new player is to not try to learn this game alone but get into contact with other players. There a many players and teams out there that want to help you out with strats and training. All you need to do is make yourself known to them. Either make an introductional thread about you or ask your questions directly. Use the newbies board for basic questions, strategies board if you want to be given a 'plan' for the round or team&group board if you want to get into action and join a team that trains you directly.

Oh and be adviced that the fightserver is the toughest of all. People are forced to kill each other by the rules of that server. a new player will get an ugly beating there most likely. be warned!

I just did some grammatical / spelling changes, improved the English, and spiced it up.

___________________________________________________________________

This is meant as a rough first overview, for players that have never played TEQ before.

The Servers

TEQ has three servers. You are allowed to play all servers simultaneously, but you may not own more then one account or use more then one country on the same server at one time.

On TeamServer and GroupServer, one round (reset) will last one month, with 1-2 days break in between. On FightServer, it's up to 2 months, but it can be shorter if someone fulfills the winning criteria for that server before the 60 days are done. Therefore, FightServer doesn't restart at the beginning of each month as the two other servers do, but rather on changing dates.

The Goal

In TEQ you control a nation and try to make it as powerful as possible. Although this is measured differently from server to server, the main goal is Networth. Networth is primarily comprised of your land, technology and military.

When one round ends, all players will gain ranking points and the game gets reset.

Accumulating ranking points will raise your player ranking and earn you medals.

How to play

On the one hand TEQ countries can be treated as huge economies: They produce goods, military or technologies and trade them for other goods they lack.

On the other hand they can be viewed in a militaristic sense. The countries fight each other for land and resources. Limited military activity is commonly accepted, but going too far will get you killed quickly, so act with caution!

When you have a country on one of the servers, you'll be given turns every x minutes, depending on the server you're playing. There is no way to get additional turns, so it all comes down to the best usage of the time you're given.

Growing quickly is key in TEQ. You need land and discoveries to raise your production and you need military to defend it.

Military is very expensive, but important in defending your country. Your economy needs to earn you a fortune to fund your expanding military. You must grow and optimize your economy to be successful.

A solid plan is what you need, right at the start.

Strategies

TEQ has mechanisms in play that will force you to specialize in one business aspect of your country. It would be going too far to explain everything now already, but its accepted by most players that a mixed country that tries to be self-sufficient will always fall behind (compared to a country that specializes and engages in trading). Thus, TEQ encourages another important aspect of the game: competitive market play.

Basically, the strategies are called by the goods they produce or the building they center on. For example, Steeler, Barracker, Beacher, WarFaccer (short for WarFactory), etc. However important they are, strategies do not solely define the nature of your country. You must also answer the growth question - do you want use the peaceful 'land-buying' or aggressive 'land-grabning' method to get your land? So common strategies could be 'land-buying steeler', 'grabbing beacher', etc..

Many players have written strategies that they are willing to share with new players. They are very few secrets - if you put forth the effort you can learn all there is to know.

The average strategies in TEQ will be similar. The beginning of every round has some turns in 'neutral' mode: you cant attack or be attacked. During that time you build your economy. When you have used your neutral turns (they are limited) you usually make a sale for a significant portion of your goods. Then you spend the cash on military to get your country prepared for the rough time after neutral mode. This time, unsurprisingly, is referred to as OON (out of neutral) or OOP (out of protection).

From now on you'll spend your turns on land growth, purchase of technology, and military. You sell your goods and earn cash for the next day (or even the same day - when you play is up to you!).

Knowledge of the market, wise choice of targets, and clever management of resources are what it takes for you to compete!

Getting Started

My main suggestion for every new player is to not try to learn this game alone but get into contact with other players. Doing so will save you quite a bit of time and will set the stage for a more rewarding TEQ experience. There are many players and teams out there that want to help you out with strats and training (because you may be a valuable player down the road!). All you need to do is make yourself known to them. Either make an introductory thread about youself or ask your questions directly. Use the newbies board for basic questions, strategies board if you want to be given a 'plan' for the round or the team & group boards if you want to get into action and join a team that trains you directly.

Oh and be advised that the FightServer is the toughest of all! People are forced to kill each other to finish higher in that server. A new player will most likely get an severe beating there. You have been warned!

In summary, there are 4 things a new player should do.

1) Post questions on the newbies board. Do not be shy! People will help you.
2) Join a reputable team. These teams often have information banks full of strategies and tips to help you become a great player. If a top team doesn't accept you, don't be discouraged! Join a rival and make them regret it.
3) Listen to the more experienced players. Keep an open mind and be as active as possible.
4) Don't be afraid to try new things! Many players stick to one strategy and fail to learn key concepts that other strategies emphasize.
